Zac Posen Trillium Pleated Bow Tote

Monday, February 9th, 2009

If you dislike pleats, bows, chains, and the color purple… then this bag is definitely not for you. Personally, I like all of the details listed above, but I don’t know how I feel about finding all those features on one single bag. A perfect example of this would be the Trillium Pleated Bow Tote by Zac Posen. What do you think gals? Personally, I like the body of the bag. I like how this Posen is composed of structured Nappa leather and how it’s slender in width. Although those pinched-pleats wouldn’t be my pleats of choice… window blinds anybody? I don’t know how I feel over the chained shoulder strap either, it reminds me too much of the railing to a rollercoaster ride. I find the worst part about the strap is the fact that it’s permanently attached to the bag, that’s right… it’s not removable. I could just imagine how horrid this bag would look worn on the crook of the arm. Imagine the dangling 16.5” chain drop! The only removable piece to this bag is the monogrammed leather tag, which I don’t care too much for. I say this tote, minus the chain, would have looked much better!

Maloles Andrea Clutch

Monday, February 9th, 2009

As some of you ladies already know, I like to find unusual handbags to blog about. And as you can see, I have a rather different looking clutch picked this time. Introducing the Maloles Andrea Clutch. It has an unusual color combination — matte grey paired with champagne and black. Certainly not colors that you would expect to see together on an evening bag. But the colors are not the only thing different about this clutch. How does everyone feel about suede on an evening-only bag? Wow, now that is definitely something unexpected! Personally, I don’t think I could see myself carrying this clutch. But I think it would be really cute if you were looking for something that nobody else has. After all, things can get pretty boring when the only clutches you see floating around the room consist of black satin or sequins. So perhaps a clutch like this one could help mix things up a bit!

The Maloles Andrea Clutch features a flap closure with a resin turnlock. The clutch somewhat resembles a bow with it’s subtle pleating and metallic leather band in the middle. It measures 13″ x 6″ and it retails for only $381.

It is currently available in grey/champagne (shown) and cerise/champagne over at shopbop.com.

Fendi Patent Large Baguette Bag

Fendi Patent Large Baguette Bag
In case you ladies aren’t aware, head on over to Bluefly (dot com) now. Why you might ask? They’re having a Semi-Annual Blue Sale on a variety of designer clothing and accessories with price tags marked down up to 70% OFF. Also, starting today and for three days only, you can take an additional 10% OFF already reduced stuff. Sweet, huh?

I ran upon this Fendi while browsing along the site. The Textured Patent Convertible Large Baguette is its name. Personally, I’ve always been a fan of the Fendi’s baguette. Sometimes they’re awkward or simply stunning, as this one is. The bigger the baguette the better, and with 15” x 9” x 3” dimensions, this one is clearly a winner. Overall, it’s classic and I totally dig the gold-toned hardware of choice which gives it the perfect touch of elegance. I’ve recently added a patent leather handbag to my want list for the winter season, which I have yet to acquire. So that must be the reason of why I’m really attracted to this piece. Ladies, what do you think about this Fendi? Do you think baguettes are still a fashion staple or a bit outdated?
